Larry Tetrault has his eye of the RM of La Broquerie’s top political role, eight years after departing as its top administrator.

Tetrault has hit the campaign trail this week in the municipality he has called home all his life.

“I think it is time that I give back to this community,” he said.

The municipality is doing something right, he says. It’s now the ninth largest in the province, better than the 157th rank it had back when he started as CAO.

“You can see that a lot of people had vision and cooperated to have what we have today,” he said.

Tetrault is highlighting road improvements and advocacy work among his top priorities, if he is elected reeve.

He offered praise to the current council for the job they have done.

“I think they have done a marvelous job. I have not heard complaints,” he said, adding that this council has been able to navigate through big projects in a peaceful way.

“I have seen when you cooperate and when you don’t,” he said. “It is much better if you just work together.”

Cornie Goertzen is also pursuing the reeve’s chair. The municipal election will be held on Oct. 22.
