Thieves swipe cremated ashes

A Southeast family is turning to the public in the hopes that the cremated ashes of a family member will be recovered.
Steinbach RCMP said they received a report of a break and enter that occurred last Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. at a residence on Provincial Road 210 in the RM of Ste Anne.
A box containing cremated ashes was stolen in the break-in along with $2,000 worth of items including jewelry, alcohol and electronics.
Police said the family was planning a burial service in mid-July.
