The Border Land School Division has ripped a shot top-shelf with their latest acquisition: Jonathan Toews.

No, not the Winnipeg-born hockey star, but the principal for the last seven (school) seasons at W.C. Miller Collegiate in Altona.

Toews will be appointed Border Land’s assistant superintendent, effective Aug. 2016.

With 24 years’ experience in the education field, Toews enters his new role sporting a Masters of Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, a Bachelor of Religious Education degree and a Bachelor of Education degree with distinction.

Carol Braun, who has been assistant superintendent for the past seven years, announced earlier this fall she would retire at year’s end.
