A 44-year-old La Broquerie woman was killed this afternoon after the car she was driving collided with a train. The mishap occured around 1 p.m. northwest of La Broquerie.
The STARS air ambulance received notice around 1 p.m. and descended on PR 210 next to the train tracks less than a half-hour later. They left without a patient.
The woman needed to be extracted from the vehicle, a STARS spokesperson said. She was transported to hospital by ground ambulance where she was pronounced deceased. RCMP are still on scene with a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and CN Police who are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
While the cause of the collision is not known at this time, alcohol is not considered a factor.
