A truck likely travelling too fast drove way off course north of Kleefeld late Thursday afternoon.

Steinbach RCMP Cst. Klem suggested the driver of a black truck eastbound on Highway 52 was driving too fast to take the southbound merge onto Provincial Road 216 and lost control. The truck came to a halt when it hit a line of trees southeast of the intersection, maybe 50 yards from the off-ramp.

“It doesn’t look like he hit the brakes at all,” said Klem.
