Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon at Blumenort.

Steinbach assistant fire chief Mike Penner said an older model Ford truck, travelling east on Provincial 311, entered the Highway 12 intersection when it was not safe to do so and was struck by a smaller northbound Ford Ranger.

Penner said the driver of one vehicle refused treatment at the scene. The other driver was transported to hospital for observation. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
