Two vehicles hit the ditch

A suspected t-bone collision sent two vehicles into the ditch and one person to hospital Tuesday afternoon northwest of Steinbach before 4 p.m.

Steinbach fire chief Kel Toews said an SUV and a car collided with one another at the uncontrolled intersection of Road 40N and Road 32E, which is two miles west of Highway 12.

Details are so far sparse as to what occurred, but Toews said the driver of the car was transported to hospital. The seriousness of the injuries is not known.

The driver of the SUV was tended to at the scene but was not brought to hospital.

The intersection was barricaded to most motorists as crews attended to the incident.
