Four children hurt in crash near Grande Pointe

St Pierre RCMP say there are no serious injuries after a crash involving a truck and a van, occupied by four children, southeast of Grande Pointe.

A pickup truck travelling westbound on Oak Grove Road, attempting to cross the highway, collided with a southbound car on Highway 59.

The female driver of the car, 35, and her five passengers, a 42-year-old male and four children between the ages of seven and two, all from Niverville, were transported to Winnipeg hospital. All injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Brendan Gauthier-Gobeil, the 20-year-old male driver of the truck from the RM of Tache, was not hurt. He has been charged with proceeding before safe to do so, under the Highway Traffic Act.
