Woman, 19, dies in single vehicle rollover

A 19-year-old female from Lorette was killed in a single vehicle crash late Monday night.
St Pierre-Jolys RCMP found the car she was driving shortly before 11 p.m. on Provincial Road 206, just south of Provincial Road 207 in the RM of Tache. The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early investigation shows that her vehicle left the roadway and flipped into the ditch, which was filled with water.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the rollover.
The Carillon has learned that the deceased’s name is Valérie Simard. Friends on social media have been offering their condolences to the 19-year-old’s family.
