Emergency crews responded shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday night to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 12 and Provincial Road 311 at Blumenort.

At the scene, a Pontiac Pursuit was seen next to a telephone pole in the northeast ditch of the northbound lane of Highway 12. A street light and stop sign were knocked to the ground in the crash.

Firefighters and paramedics worked to move the female driver to a stretcher and into a waiting ambulance. Steinbach RCMP Cpl. Mike Martens said the driver appeared to have suffered no serious injuries.

Martens said it was unclear if the driver, who was headed north, planned to turn west into Blumenort or continue along Highway 12, before she lost control of the vehicle prior to it entering the intersection.

The RCMP will continue to investigate the cause of the crash, he said.
