Scoring a pair of 5-2 victories over the Red River Wild on the weekend, the defending champion Ste Anne Aces have forced a seventh and deciding game in the Carillon Senior Hockey League championship series.

That penultimate game will be played Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at Ste Anne.

Facing elimination twice on the weekend, the Aces were 5-2 winners at home on Saturday and then also defeated the Wild 5-2 Sunday afternoon at St. Jean to force the deciding game for the championship.

Brennan Ritchie paced the Aces with a pair of goals in Sunday’s game while Steph Pattyn picked up a goal and two assists.

Guy St. Vincent returned to the line-up to backstop the Aces to both weekend victories.

The winner of this series will represent the CSHL at the Manitoba Senior ‘A’ Championships, which begin this weekend at the MTS Iceplex.
