In yesterday’s game seven, Marc Sabourin opened the scoring for the Wild early in the second but the Aces stormed back with three straight goals as Miguel Rondeau, Steph Pattyn and Colan Jackson scored to give the Aces a 3-1 advantage going into the third.

But the Wild were not done yet. Sabourin scored again with 1:34 remaining to make it 3-2. Brent Wold scored an empty netter in the final seconds to make it a 4-2 final, sending the packed house at Ste Anne into celebration mode.

The Aces will now represent CSHL at the Provincial Senior ‘A’ championships being held April 1 & 2 and April 8 & 9 at the MTS Iceplex.  There are six teams competing, representing the various senior leagues from around the province.

Each team is divided into the pools and the Aces will play two round robin games this weekend as they will take on the Notre Dame Hawks of the SEMHL Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and then the Carberry Plainsmen of the THHL Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The top two teams in each pool advance to the playoffs being April 8 & 9 at the Iceplex.
