It was a new game but the same score Friday night as the Steinbach Pistons notched another 5-1 victory, this time at home over the Selkirk Steelers, matching their success on the road Wednesday against the Portage Terriers.

That's five wins in a row for the Pistons who used the night to pad their league leading record to an impressive 38-6-1. The loss dropped the Steelers from second to third in the MJHL standings as the Winkler Flyers downed the Swan Valley Stampeders, by a score of 5-1 naturally, in Friday evening action in Swan River.

Ryan Carlson got the Pistons on the scoreboard early in the first period and Joseph Leonidas followed that up with another tally as the first twenty minutes neared its end.

The home squad peppered Steelers goalie Hayden Dola with 42 shots on the night. Selkirk held their own in the second period, recording the period's only goal and fending off the Pistons during a two-minute five-on-three penalty kill.

It was all for naught as the Pistons exploded for another three goals in the third from Bradley Schoonbaert, Jordan Bochinski and Tyson McConnell.

Pistons goalie Roman Bengert, who turned away 26 shots, was named the game's first star.

The team will look to continue its winning ways as they welcome the Winnipeg Blues to the T.G. Smith Centre on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
