The Manitoba Junior Hockey League schedule is out, so now would be as good a time as any to pick up your Steinbach Pistons season tickets for the 2016-17 campaign.

Ten of the 11 MJHL teams will be in action on opening night, Friday, Sept. 23, including the Pistons as they entertain the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. They will then hit the road for a clash with the Selkirk Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2:30 p.m. in Steeltown.

Next up, in a battle of the last year’s MJHL finalists, the Pistons will host the defending champion Portage Terriers Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Each team will again play a 60-game regular season schedule, playing a balanced schedule with three games at home and three games on the road against each team in the league.

Again, the majority of the Pistons’ 30 home games this season will be played Friday and Saturday nights with 10 games on Friday and nine on Saturday.

Wednesday is also a popular night for the Pistons with six games on the slate while another three are scheduled for Sunday night. The Pistons will also host a game on Louis Riel Day in February.

The MJHL Showcase is being held in mid-December this year at the MTS Iceplex, which is a departure from the early October dates in recent years. The Showcase will be held Dec. 12-14.

The Pistons will wrap up their regular season the first weekend of March with a pair of games at home as they host the Portage Terriers on Friday Mar. 3 and the OCN Blizzard on Mar. 4.

Eight teams will make the playoffs, with all three rounds of the post-season best of seven affairs.
