Autumn is here and outdoor events and festivals are disappearing.
This week we tell our readers about a couple of special walks, the Walk for Hope, the Terry Fox Run in Vassar and the Walk with Jesus that took place in Steinbach.
We also share Hanover School Division’s new learning plan for teachers, their plans to build a new administration building, how the removal of the time change will affect us and a border runner who faces a slew of charges.

Steinbach and Niverville both host their home openers this weekend, with the Nighthawks raising their championship banner Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and the Pistons hosting traditional rivals Winkler for the second half of a back-to-back the next night.
It’s always an exciting time when the action heats up inside the MJHL, but we’re keeping an eye on other sports as well. This week was the home openers for the SRSS Sabres football team and Providence Pilots soccer teams.
