The Steinbach Arts Council is bringing a contemporary but classical performance to the city.

SAC will host multi-instrumental and vocal group Quartetto Gelato at the SRSS theatre on Thursday.

“With sold-out performances in New York, Washington, L.A., London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and many more, this dazzling ensemble has enchanted audiences and critics worldwide with its exotic blend of musical virtuosity, artistic passion and humour,” SAC said in a press release.

“Classical in training, eclectic by design, Quartetto Gelato not only thrills audiences with its multi-instrument mastery, but also offers the bonus of a brilliant operatic tenor.”

SAC said the group’s repertoire spans “classical masterworks, operatic arias, the sizzling energy of tangos, gypsy and folk songs,” and added “the group’s theatrical stage presence and relaxed humour establishes an intimate rapport with audiences worldwide.”

Tickets for the event are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and are available only by going to the SAC office.
