The Gardenton Ukrainian & Multicultural Festival brought in more than 200 guests despite the hot and muggy weather on July 13.
Ukrainian Museum & Village Society Inc. president Kelvin Chubaty has been in his position for 12 years and was a long-time attendee for many years before.
“It went really well,” he said. “Nothing but great reports.”

With high humidity and high temperatures, crowds still took the time to enjoy a 26-act show featuring Ukrainian performances and those from other parts of the world.
Other activities were also available during the day which ended with Zabava, an evening event with music by the Wild Ridge Band and a Ukrainian style hot night lunch of perogies and sausages.
Chubaty said this was their 59th year and they’re already planning something big for the 60th anniversary next summer.
He added that the festival was a success thanks to the 12-member board of directors and the many volunteers.
“I’m very fortunate for all the support,” he said.
