ATV rider dies following rollover

RCMP said in a release on Friday afternoon that an ATV rider has died of injuries sustained in a crash last weekend.

The 34-year-old Winnipeg man was sent via STARS air ambulance to Winnipeg hospital with life threatening injuries on Saturday night after the incident near Richer.

Police were called to the scene, a block south of the Dawson Road and Provincial Road 302 intersection, shortly before 8:30 p.m. The man was found unconscious with extensive injuries in the ditch on the east side of the roadway.

In the release, RCMP said the man died of his injuries on Monday.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
