The federal and provincial governments have announced a $1,132,000 investment in Bothwell Cheese to advance modernization efforts as well as enhance efficiency and productivity.

The announcement was made at the company’s Fromagerie Bothwell store in Winnipeg on Tuesday morning.

The project involves investments in modern processing equipment that will support the innovation of new products. A new waste-water treatment centre is planned, along with new water recycling equipment that will significantly reduce the company’s overall water usage.

The investment will add 20 full-time positions upon project completion with another 30 positions expected to be added in three years, when exports are also anticipated to have increased by $24 million annually.
