Cold temperatures have resulted in the closure of schools in several Southeast school divisions on Tuesday morning.

Schools are closed in Border Land School Division, Red River Valley School Division, Seine River School Division, and Sunrise School Division. Though schools are closed to students, staff are expected to report to work.

DSFM schools in the region are closed as well.

Environment Canada indicates that an Arctic air mass, combined with moderate northwesterly winds, is producing extreme cold conditions that are expected to continue throughout the day with wind chill values in the range of -45 to -50.
