Provincial Road 216 was temporarily closed on Wednesday night after a two vehicle motor vehicle collision about two miles north of Grunthal.

St Pierre RCMP Cst. Rheo Gosselin said investigation at the scene showed a southbound van was rear-ended by a Buick Rendezvous as the van slowed to turn onto a church property on the east side of the highway.

Gosselin said it appears the other driver did not notice the van slowing, resulting in a collision that pushed the van into the east ditch.
