Members of the Richer Fire Department attend to the scene of a single-vehicle accident just south of Richer on Provincial Road 302 Wednesday afternoon.

Fire chief Ed Belisle said an unconscious motorist had to be extricated from a locked vehicle that left the roadway.

Steinbach RCMP said in a release on Thursday morning the vehicle appeared to have veered off the highway, driven through the ditch, and come to rest against several trees.
