The 16th annual Mitchell and Area Fun Days will bring a range of family-friendly outdoor activities to the grounds of Stahn Field this weekend.

Festivalgoers can fuel up Saturday with a free pancake breakfast at the Seniors Centre from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Silent auction prizes will be displayed there, then move to Stahn Field along with the remainder of the day’s events.

A flea market featuring more than 30 vendors gets underway at 10 a.m., and a slo-pitch tournament is also planned.

For the kids, a petting zoo, balloon artist, pedal carts, wagon and barrel rides, inflatables, and other games will be offered at various times throughout the day.

A show and shine car show revs up at 4 p.m. ahead of a 5:30 p.m. chicken barbecue.

Beginning at 7 p.m., country bands 5acres and Small Town Limits will provide free entertainment, with fireworks to follow at 10:45 p.m.

On Sunday, a 10:30 a.m. community church service and noon lunch will cap off the festivities.

In the event of rain, activities will be moved under a tent or relocated to the Seniors Centre.
