HSD announces Niverville school name

Drumroll please.
After receiving over 100 name suggestions, the Hanover School Division naming committee tasked with christening the new Niverville high school has settled on a name: Niverville High School.
The board of trustees announced the news at their regular meeting on Tuesday night.
In a release, the division added that the new name was chosen after receiving community feedback from students, parents and guardians, staff, and community members.
The division said the new name reflects that feedback and the school board’s desire for the school name to retain its distinct community identity.
The current high school, Niverville Collegiate Institute, is to be transitioned to a Grade 5-8 school and renamed Niverville Middle School, once the new school is complete.
Niverville High School is expected to open in September 2019.
