Hanover implements fire ban

A fire ban will take effect today at noon in RM of Hanover, due to dry conditions and in anticipation of warm temperatures and high winds this week.

The entire municipality is subject to the ban, which the municipality said is aimed at targeting the intentional setting of fires in grass and brush.

Fire in enclosed backyard pits are permitted. Agricultural burning permits may be authorized by the municipality’s fire chief.

Total burn bans been declared in the RM of Ste Anne and RM of Reynolds in the last week.
