The first Southeast baby of 2019 came into the world in the comfort of home early this morning.

Robert and Regina Wall welcomed a baby boy in a home birth with the support of midwives at their residence near La Broquerie.

Baby William was born at 5:28 a.m., weighing in at just over 9 pounds (4,100 grams).

Veronica Reimer, a midwife with Southern Health, reported that all were happy and healthy following the delivery.

The couple, looking to enjoy their new addition quietly, declined a photo and interview request from The Carillon.
