Police explore armed robbery connection

Armed robberies in Sarto on Jan. 3 and Ste Genevieve on Jan. 10 may be related, RCMP have said.

On Jan. 10 around 8:30 p.m. the Ste Genevieve General Store was targeted by two masked individuals who entered the store, demanding money and cigarettes from the store employee.

Both suspects are described as male, Caucasian, 18-25 years old, dressed in black. One of the individuals carried a long barrelled firearm and the other carried a large knife.

The men left the store with a backpack that was used to carry money, cigarettes and a small amount of liquor.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which was similar to another heist in Sarto the previous week.
