One person was taken by STARS to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on Sunday night after an incident along Provincial Road 403 near St Malo.

A STARS spokesperson said the air ambulance service was dispatched to a “horse related injury” just after 9 p.m.

The patient was transported in critical condition.

One person at the scene told The Carillon that members of his family had been the first to locate a woman, who appeared to have been thrown from her horse.

STARS crew members were assisted by Southern Health paramedics and the St Malo fire department.
