Three Winnipeg residents are in custody after a robbery in Tourond last Sunday afternoon.

RCMP said in a release on Friday that on Dec. 23 around 3:30 p.m., two females and one male entered a business on Highway 59 in Tourond, took multiple items off shelves, and left without paying.

Police said owners were threatened with an extendable baton when they attempted to confront the suspects.

The trio’s departure was foiled when the stolen vehicle they were driving became stuck in snow. St Pierre RCMP arrived on the scene and arrested the two females, who were still inside the vehicle. Fresh footprints led officers to a property about a mile from the business, where the male suspect was located and arrested.

Christopher Murdock, 25, faces several charges including robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Shauna Owen, 29, faces charges including robbery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Amber Roberts, 33, faces charges including robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All three were already being sought on outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants before Sunday’s incident.
