A two-day celebration of French Canadian culture and heritage begins today as the annual St Jean Baptiste Days arrives in La Broquerie.

St Jean Baptiste Days will include everything from sports tournaments and live music, to a parade and Sunday mass.

Saturday has kicked off with a pancake breakfast until 10 a.m., followed by a softball tournament, and also includes a three-on three street hockey tournament for children ages 8-12.

The first day of festivities will wrap up with musical performances by Jérémie and the Delicious Hounds.

Day two will begin with a 10 a.m. mass that will be held at Saint-Joachim Parish.

After mass is over, crowds will gather for the annual St Jean Baptiste Days Parade at 11:30 a.m., which will include more than 50 floats and also feature the 15-piece Winnipeg Police Pipe Band.
