Steinbach man dies in snowmobile crash

A snowmobile collision on Tuesday, south of Falcon Lake, has claimed the life of a 25-year-old Steinbach man.

Falcon Beach RCMP responded, just after 11:30 a.m., to a report of a collision on the Can-Am Trail, at a location about 40 kilometers south of Falcon Lake in the RM of Reynolds.

RCMP said in a release on Wednesday morning that the 25-year-old and a 54-year-old man, also from Steinbach, were both driving south on the trail when the younger man collided with a tree.

He was pronounced deceased on scene.

Police said the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and that alcohol is not considered a factor.
