If you’re looking for some fun in the sun this weekend then look no further than the streets of Steinbach.

The annual Summer in the City festival takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Steinbach and will see the city’s streets transformed into a three-day festival that will celebrate arts, culture and summer in the Southeast.

Summer in the City will feature a midway with carnival rides throughout the weekend, as well as live entertainment on the SCU Main Stage on both Friday and Saturday kicking off at 12 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Friday’s two headliners on the SCU stage will be the Epic Eagles Tribute Band as well as Jukebox Heroes, while Saturday’s headliners will be rising country music star Aaron Goodvin and country group The Washboard Union.

Headliners on both evenings are set to hit the stage at 8:30 p.m.

The festival will also feature entertainment and activities including Paint in the City parties and mini art lessons, and vendors selling everything from Korean BBQ food to henna tattoos.

A full list of Summer in the City events and attractions can be found by visiting summerinthecity.ca.

There will be some roads closed this weekend to make way for Summer in the City. Reimer Avenue, stretching from First Street to Elmdale Street, is closed, as well as Main Street between Friesen Avenue and Barkman Avenue.
