Anyone in southeastern Manitoba looking for something fun to do this weekend will have plenty of options, as several communities stage summer events.

Dugald will host the Springfield Country Fair this Saturday. Put on by the Springfield Agricultural Society, this year’s fair will feature a pancake breakfast, bicycle decorating contest, bouncers for kids, live entertainment, and other attractions and activities throughout the day at the fairgrounds. More info on the event can be found by visiting springfieldagsociety.com.

The Marchand Ranch Rodeo takes place Saturday and Sunday at Marchand Park, featuring rodeo competitions such as saddle horse racing, steer mugging, and barrel racing. The rodeo will also feature a Saturday night supper and dance, and a Sunday morning pancake breakfast.

All things summer will be celebrated in Ste Agathe this Friday and Saturday during the Cheyenne Summer Festival. A parade and fireworks show are planned for Friday evening, and the fun will continue into Saturday with all-day children’s activities, a horseshoes tournament, a barbecue dinner, and a Hawaiian-themed evening social. More information on the Cheyenne Summer Festival can be found online at cheyennefest.weebly.com.
