Police say that a suspect has been identified but no arrest has been made, after a man was injured in Steinbach early Saturday morning.
RCMP officers were called to a residence on Fifth Street at 4 a.m. after a disturbance was reported. The complaint had indicated a large group of teens were in the area, making a lot of noise and that they were getting into a vehicle and leaving.
Police attended the area in search of the vehicle.
At 4:15 a.m. another report was received, this time from the hospital, that an 18-year-old resident of Bird, MB had been bought to hospital with “injuries consistent with being stabbed.”
The man’s injuries were non-life threatening. He was treated and released.
The investigation is ongoing at this time, police said on Tuesday morning.
