Train strikes car in Springfield crash

A 17-year-old male driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after his car was struck by a train on Wednesday afternoon.

The collision occurred at about 4 p.m. on Briercliff Road at an uncontrolled intersection, less than a half kilometre south of Provincial Road 213 in the RM of Springfield.

Police said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision, which continues to be investigated by RCMP and CP Rail police.
