Two men hurt in head-on collision

A two-vehicle head-on collision closed Provincial Road 210, between Road 33N and Road 34, on Monday morning about two miles southeast of La Broquerie.

La Broquerie fire chief Alain Nadeau said the accident was under investigation and the highway would remain closed while it was determined which lane each of vehicles was travelling in when the crash occurred.

The highway has since been reopened.

He said the drivers of the vehicles, both male, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. There were no other occupants.

Ground ambulances were used in the transfer, Nadeau noted, as weather conditions made the STARS air ambulance unavailable for service.
