Sunrise School Division has promoted from within to fill the shoes of retiring superintendent Barb Isaak.
Cathy Tymko will assume the role of superintendent/CEO of the division starting in August.
"Ms Tymko is highly regarded for her deep commitment to our communities, her passion for educational leadership and her demonstrated dedication to all our student learners," said board of trustees chairman Paul Barnard, in a release issued by the division yesterday afternoon.
Tymko, who has served previously as an assistant principal and principal in the divison, is currently an assistant superintendent with Sunrise.
