Win Christmas cash in annual writing contest

The Carillon, as part of a longstanding tradition, will again publish the best work of writers in our annual holiday edition. This year the Christmas edition will be published Thursday, Dec. 21.

We’re asking for stories and poetry on why Christmas remains timeless—telling readers what it is about the season that sets it apart.

Submissions are invited in three categories: adult stories and poems and juvenile (aged 14 and under) poetry. Writing may be true accounts or fiction but should be marked as such.

We are offering a total of $505 in prize money for the top entries: adult story winners will receive prizes of $100, $75, $50 and $35; adult poetry has prizes of $50, $40, $35 and $30; junior poetry winners will receive $35, $30 and $25.

Entry deadline (or postmark) is Friday, Dec. 8.
