A 35-year-old woman was arrested early Monday morning and remains in custody on several charges.
At 3:05 a.m. police responded to a report of suspicious persons on Main Street in Steinbach. The woman initially provided police with a false name before being identified.
Tammy Renz was arrested on an outstanding Winnipeg warrant. Officers also discovered illegal drugs in the woman's purse, including 3.49 grams of meth and a small amount of marijuana, along with Canadian currency and a palm scale.
Renz has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana, failure to comply with a probation order, obstructing a public officer, and possession of property obtained by crime.
