Neither were wearing helmets. The driver suffered broken arms, while the passenger was uninjured.

Police said in a release on Monday morning that due to the driver’s inexperience, she lost control of the ATV while trying to avoid pedestrians.

Alcohol, police said, may have been a contributing factor. The release also noted that the ATV had been reported stolen in 2017.
