A 25-year-old Winnipeg woman was injured on Friday night in an ATV accident on Loewen Boulevard, near the intersection of Shady Acres Lane in the RM of La Broquerie.

Police received a report of the crash around 8:45 p.m.

The woman was driving the ATV along with a 26-year-old male passenger from Steinbach.

Neither were wearing helmets. The driver suffered broken arms, while the passenger was uninjured.

Police said in a release on Monday morning that due to the driver’s inexperience, she lost control of the ATV while trying to avoid pedestrians.

Alcohol, police said, may have been a contributing factor. The release also noted that the ATV had been reported stolen in 2017.
