Ben Friesen Eidse completed his journey on Wednesday, Apr. 25, 2018, in Niverville, MB. Born Oct. 12, 1928, in Morris, MB, he was the 12th and last surviving of D.K and Elizabeth Eidse’s 20 children. He served as first chancellor and three-term president of Steinbach Bible College, Bible translator, and missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He is survived by Hope (Ben Wiebe), Faith (Philip Kuhns), Charity (John Schellenberg), and Grace Eidse, and their families.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Reimer Eidse.
A viewing was held at Rosenort Evangelical Mennonite Church on Saturday, Apr. 28 at 7 p.m., and funeral at Steinbach EMC on Sunday, Apr. 29 at 2:30 p.m. with viewing prior to the service.
Interment followed at Steinbach Heritage Cemetery.
