Mom was held in high regard by her many friends, family and relatives. They in turn helped her through some very trying times. Mom said that you have to live every day God gives you. By that she meant that we should live it well and with appreciation. In the last 20 years Mom suffered several small strokes, short term memory loss and debilitating osteoarthritis. And she gave us an example of grace and dignity again.
Mom had many jobs and the one she was best at was mother and grandmother. Her occupations were many. Starting with the family seamstress as a young woman, family farm duties, hoeing beets, gardener, store clerk, baker, wedding cake decorator, painter and volunteering.
She joined The New Horizons club when she retired and especially enjoyed shuffleboard. Many years were spent at the MCC thrift store sorting and then taking home materials to make blankets that were later finished with the ladies of the Sewing Circle for MCC disaster relief.
Our mom was the best mom and grandmother ever!
