In the coming weeks, Baseball Manitoba will be conducting a variety of age group provincial championships in communities across the province.

Two of those championships are being held in the southeast this coming weekend, including the 13U ‘A’ provincials at Ile des Chenes and the 15U ‘A’ championships at Rosenort, both running Friday to Sunday.

There are three teams from the Carillon Minor Baseball Association in the 12-team field at Ile des Chenes, including Mitchell, Niverville and host Seine River. That tournament begins Friday at 3:00 p.m. with each team playing three round robin games from their respective pools.

Round robin play ends Saturday night. Six teams advance to the Sunday playoffs, with the championship game slated for Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

There are 10 teams competing in Rosenort, in two pools of five, including Blumenort and Rosenort. Round robin play begins Friday at 8:30 a.m. The top four teams make the playoffs with the championship game going Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
