The Steinbach Huskies saw their short foray into the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League playoffs come to an end Wednesday night in Steinbach following their 5-2 loss to the St. Adolphe Hawks.

St. Adolphe, third place finishers in the loop this season, swept the last place Huskies three straight in the best-of-five quarter-final series after winning the first two games 7-1 and 5-3.

Wednesday’s game three in Steinbach was over early as the Hawks jumped on the Huskies with three quick goals in the first and coasted to the 5-2 triumph.

Richard Lesage paced the Hawks with a pair of goals while regular season scoring champ Eric Lebrun chipped in with a goal and two assists. Nico Chiasson and Miguel Chartier responded for the Huskies.

St. Adolphe will now take on the defending champion Springfield Xtreme in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the other quarter-final series between the Lorette Comets and Mitchell Mohawks continues tonight in Mitchell at 8:00 p.m. with game four of the series. Lorette leads that series 2-1. Should Mitchell force a deciding game, it would be played Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell.
