Rebounding from a 5-3 loss on the same ice one week earlier, the Steinbach Pistons blanked the Virden Oil Capitals 3-0 in Manitoba Junior Hockey League play Friday night at Virden.

Scoreless through the first two periods, Easton Bennett scored the winner six minutes into the third and Tyson McConnell and Brendan Martin added insurance markers in the final couple of minutes.

Virden outshot the Pistons 22-12 through those first two periods, but the Pistons outshot the Caps 14-3 in the final frame and 26-25 overall as Matt Radomsky picked up his league-leading third shutout of the season with 25 saves. Radomsky also leads the league with a 2.03 goals against average and also leads with a .925 percentage.

With the win, the Pistons remain in third place in the standings, now with a 16-8-1-0 record, four points back of the second place Portage Terriers.

The Pistons next see action Tuesday at Selkirk as they take on the Steelers at 7:30 p.m.
