The Steinbach Pistons edged the Winnipeg Blues 3-2 Tuesday night in Steinbach to take a 3-0 stranglehold lead on the Blues in their MJHL quarter-final series.

Steinbach jumped into a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Tyson McConnell and Brendan Martin. The Blues tied it in the second on goals by Darren Gisti and Sulivan Shortreed. But less than a minute after the Blues had tied it, Nico Labossiere scored what proved to the winning goal with eight minutes left in the second. Defenceman Troy Williams picked up two assists on the night for the Pistons.

That 3-2 lead up for the Pistons stood up in what was a solid all-round effort as the Pistons, who were outshot in the first two games, outshot the Blues 37-36. Matt Radomsky was again solid in net making 34 saves.

Steinbach can wrap up the series Thursday night as the two teams will again clash at 7:00 p.m. at Bell MTS Iceplex. Game five in the series, if required, will be played Saturday night in Steinbach.
