The Steinbach Pistons put an exclamation mark on the MJHL Showcase Wednesday at the Bell MTS Iceplex posting their second shutout in as many days.

On Tuesday, it was Matthew Thiessen that backstopped the Pistons to a 4-0 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders. Yesterday it was Matt Radomsky’s turn as he made 21 saves to lead the Pistons to a 3-0 victory over the Dauphin. It was Radomsky’s third shutout of the season.

It was another dominant performance for the first place Pistons as they outshot the Kings 50-21, including 23-8 in the first period alone.

Daniel McKitrick and Braden Purtill scored first period markers for the Pistons while Will Koop added another in third. Defenceman Mark Wilson had two assists in the game. For McKitrick, it was his 13th of the season, adding to the two goals he scored against the Stampeders.

With the win, the Pistons improve to 25-7-1-0 atop the standings and a whopping seven-point lead on the second place Winkler Flyers and OCN Blizzard.

The Pistons have two games at home this weekend as they host a strong Virden Oil Capitals team (20-10-1-0) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and then the last place but improving Waywayseecappo Wolverines Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

In other games Wednesday on the final day of the Showcase: Portage doubled Winnipeg 4-2, Virden defeated Neepawa 5-1 and Selkirk downed Swan Valley 4-2.
