Remi Laurencelle scored the winning goal midway through the third period as the Grunthal Red Wings edged the Ste. Anne Aces 4-3 in the Carillon Senior Hockey League finals Thursday night at Grunthal.

That best of seven championship series is now tied at 2-2.

The Aces, three-time defending CSHL champions, won the first two games of the series by margins of 7-4 and 6-4, but the Red Wings have bounced back to tie it with a pair of one-goal victories.

Last night’s game was a see-saw battle with the lead changing several times, but the teams were knotted at 1-1 after the first and 3-3 after the second.

Laurencelle had two goals and an assist in the game for the Red Wings. Dylan Reimer and Gavin Froese rounded out the Grunthal scoring.

Replying for the Aces were Brennan Ritchie, Steph Pattyn and Russell Trudeau.

Game five in the series will be played tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Ste. Anne and game six is back in Grunthal Sunday at 6:00 p.m. If a seventh and deciding game is required, it will be played Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at Ste. Anne.
