The SRSS Sabres take to the field this Thursday morning at Optimist Park in Winnipeg as they begin play in the Provincial High School Boys Baseball Championships.

It is a title that has eluded the Sabres over the years although they came close last year as they dropped an 8-6 decision to Portage Collegiate in the provincial final.

This year the Sabres and the Portage Trojans are again favoured as the Trojans, the two-time defending champions, come in as the number one seed while the Sabres are ranked second.
