Sabres sideline Kelvin Clippers

The SRSS Sabres scored an emphatic 7-2 victory over the Kelvin Clippers in Winnipeg High School Hockey League action Wednesday night in Steinbach.

SRSS improves their record to 2-2-1 in the WHSHL’s top Platinum Division.

The Sabres sprinted to a 3-0 first period lead on the strenghth of a pair of shorthanded goals by Teighan Funk and Ethan Plett.

Plett and Keyan Grimard each had two goals and an assist in the game to pace the Sabres in the victory over the Clippers. Tryen Clayton and Samuel Penner had the other Steinbach tallies.

Riley Plett picked up the win in net for the Sabres making 25 saves.

The Sabres next see action Nov. 7 at home as they host the Westwood Warriors at 4:00 p.m. in Steinbach.

Meanwhile, the SRSS Sabres of the Winnipeg Women’s High School Hockey League will host a game Monday afternoon in Steinbach as they entertain the West Kildonan Wolverines at 3:30 p.m.
